Best AI tools for concrete contractors

Updated · 10 tools · no paid placements

Concrete work has three software problems: getting slab, footing, wall and rebar quantities off the drawings fast (and again after every revision), knowing when a pour has reached strength so forms can come off, and keeping daily reports, crews and materials under control. Every tool below has a concrete page or concrete product on its official site. Prices were rechecked on each vendor's pricing page on 2026-10-22; where a vendor only quotes, we say so.

  1. STACK · Estimating & Takeoff

Cloud takeoff and estimating with a dedicated concrete estimating page (footings to foundations, material, labor and equipment costs) and a separate rebar takeoff page. Free plan forever (1 active project a month, 50 measurements per project, after 7 days of Pro); Premium $299/user/mo billed annually adds AI takeoffs and unlimited projects; Pro $349/user/mo billed annually adds worksheet-style estimating and STACK for Excel. All plans are 12-month terms. See PlanSwift vs STACK and STACK vs Kreo.

  2. PlanSwift · Estimating & Takeoff

Essential $2,000/year (1 seat) includes Auto Count, Auto Scale and Auto Bookmark; Core $3,000/year adds Auto Takeoff (AI first-pass takeoff of areas, lengths and counts). 14-day free trial, no credit card.

  4. Beam AI · Estimating & Takeoff

AI concrete and rebar takeoff with human-in-the-loop QA (its concrete page is titled "Concrete and Rebar Takeoff Software"). Watch the plan fit: the $8K/yr-per-trade Do It Yourself license is listed only for HVAC, plumbing and steel, so concrete and rebar fall under Done For You takeoffs, which start at a $25K annual license based on trade and volume. Makes sense for high-volume bidders, not a one-estimator shop.

Price (from vendor site): Public pricing — Do It Yourself from $8K/yr per trade (HVAC, plumbing & steel only); Done For You from $25K/yr (all trades, incl. concrete & rebar) · Best for: Subcontractors, GCs

What we left out

We left out large-GC platforms (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and lab-only testing equipment. JobTread also has a concrete contractors page ($199/mo including 1 user) and Billd offers lien services and material financing for subcontractors; both are in our directory but are general tools rather than concrete-specific ones. Dedicated rebar detailing software is not in our directory yet.

How we chose

A tool is listed only if its official site shows it serves concrete contractors (a trade page, product or customers) or it is a general trade-contractor tool that clearly fits. Notes and prices come from vendor sites; we did not test the products hands-on. Methodology.

FAQ

What is the best takeoff software for concrete contractors?

STACK, PlanSwift and Kreo all have concrete pages and published prices: STACK has a free plan and Premium at $299/user/mo billed annually; PlanSwift Essential is $2,000/year per seat (Core with AI Auto Takeoff $3,000/year); Kreo Essential is $100/user/mo billed annually ($175 for Pro with AI). Beam AI does the takeoff for you (Done For You from $25K/yr). Prices checked on vendor pages 2026-10-22.

Is there software for rebar takeoff?

Yes. STACK has a rebar takeoff and estimating page, PlanSwift's concrete assemblies carry rebar into the estimate, and Beam AI offers AI concrete and rebar takeoffs with human QA (Done For You, from $25K/yr). Kreo's concrete page says it can work out how much rebar a slab needs.

Is there free concrete estimating software?

STACK's Free plan is $0 forever for 1 active project a month (50 measurements per project). PlanSwift (14 days) and Kreo (7 days) offer free trials.

How do concrete sensors work and what do they cost?

Sensors such as Converge's Signal and Giatec's SmartRock are placed in the pour and report temperature, from which in-place strength is estimated with the maturity method, so decisions such as striking formwork or stressing post-tensioned slabs can rest on in-place data, not only on cylinder breaks. Converge lists standard pricing averaging £99 per measurement point on a ConcreteDNA landing page; Giatec prices by quote.

Do these rankings include paid placements?

No. We have no paid placements or affiliate links, and we did not test these products hands-on; notes come from vendor-published information.
